new church opportunities

Imagine going to a city that you have been to many times.  But then you go to the bad part of town and you look at where the poorer people live.  At first you might be afraid to go there.  But when you get there, you find out that you actually have a heart for the people of thisarea and you are determined to help them no matter what.  This is what happened to me today.

In an area called Juvernat me, Pastor Clairmont, and Pastor Enock, Ivisited a church that is basically dying.  The pastor no longer can take care of this parish anymore and has been hungry for 5 days. When Iheard this it almost made me cry.  We had given him a little bit of money because it touched our hearts to help him.  This is a place surrounded by buildings.  It reminds me of an area in Port Au Prince called Route St. Martin.  I couldn't help that area but this area maybe able to accomplish the vision God has given me.  You never know what God is going to do.  Many times we think we know what we want but we actually don't.  He knows what is bettter for us. We are also working on taking over a church in Boucan.  This is going to be a lot of work but we know God will help us accomplish it.

Through the leading of the Holy Spirit we are able to accomplish many things. We just need to be willing to do the work. I had been discouraged this past few months because we hadn't really been doing anything. But when we I decided to step out and trust God for the answer he did it.
We just need to do the work that he has called us to do. Keep the faith and step out and he will do the work that he called us to do.

Needs for HLM and future

This past week we received 72 boxes from Love a Child.  That was a real blessing. We gave food at a remote village in the mountains of Haiti in an area called Robin.  The families there are very desperate for anyone to help them because the government does not help this area at all.  We are praying that God will help us start a school and church in this area.  Keep praying that God will make a way and Jesus Christ will be glorified.

We have been having spirit filled services here at our Hope in the Light Church.  It has been very encouraging to see the young people blossom through the truth of Jesus Christ.  We have started a men's group and it has been great.  Me as a pastor have been blessed greately to hear the men of the church and their needs.  It makes me feel less disconnected from them.  It helps me know that I am not alone in many of the problems that I have are the problems of many other men.  Jesus gets all of the glory because I don't deserve any credit for this group it is all God.  For all of you who are out there reading this please keep this group in your prayers God has been using me and the leaders of the group greatly.  To God ge the glory.

We are looking at some land in the area for our church. We would also like to have a school so that students in the area may have a chance to have a christian education.  It is vital to our church and to the children in the area.  The building is a need because some people will not come to our church because it is being held in our garage.  We know that God will make a way for us he always does.  I have the vision that God has given me but I need to be patient with him to be able to accomplish his vision and not my own.

School started this past week but many of the students did not come.  We are encouraged that they will come this week.  I pray the support can grow so that we maybe able to have a high school for all of the students in the area that don't have a chance to go to school or the money to go to school.  Thank you for all of your support and prayers.God Bless you all.

Needs and situations of a missionary

Hello everyone.  This is the Director of operations here in Haiti.  Things have been a little trying.  We got Angie enrolled at Quisqueya Christian School.  That was a chore, but through God's grace we have been able to get through it.  But that doesn't really mean that the devil hasn't been trying to attack us in every way possible.  We have had problems with our power, our food, and also our vehicles.  We just had our Land Rover breakdown today and barely got it back to our house.  Keep us in your prayers and we know that God will make away through this tough time.  Donald and Marjorie have received scholarships to go to TBI for the fall semester but we are unsure what to do.  We would love to have them go but I don't know what they will do after their 4 month I-20 runs out.  I am applying to two schools for them one is a need based college and the other is a liberal arts young men's college in the California desert.  But the only problem is that they won't get accepted until next year.  So we have a window from January to July or August.  Please pray that God will help us to know what he wants us to do.  Our school in Boucan will start in either September or October.  Take Care and God Bless you all.

Hello everyone here is a link to download our new newsletter.  It features a testimony from my niece from Majorie.  We are looking for schools for Donald and Majo to go to college.  We have found some perspective schools but they haven't been accepted at them yet just believing God will show us the way to go from here.  We know God is leading us we just don't want them to lose this chance.

It has been a trying time here in Haiti.  We are still trying to get our power under control.  We have recently taken Reynalto, Raymond's son into our home and are hopefully going to adopt him in the near future.  It has been a trying time for him because so many people have left him and he has not had the attention that a child should have at his age.

We do this for Raymond we know this is what he would want us to do.  The lord tells us to take care of orphans and widows.  They can't help themselves.  It is not this boy's fault that his dad died and his mom ran away.  When we took him he was really skinny and had diarhea for three months.  It is by the grace of God that we were here at the right time to help him.

The church is stable right now.  We are hopefully going to get a men's group to meet soon.  It has been a need for a long time.  For men to have fellowship and have a place to say their peace with out Judgement.  We have lost our transportation for the moment.  We have a motorcycle that is our only transportation.  I was trying to drive the Dodge Dakota last week and the crankshaft broke.  Please keep us in your prayers because Angie is going to have to go to her Christian school next month.  God is in control and he will take care of it.  God Bless you all.

Hello everyone it has been a long strange trip to get here.  The devil has been trying to attack us in every way.  First when we were leaving the U.S.  I forgot my Haitian resident card and we were delayed a day until we could leave.  We arrive in Haiti the next day.  We return to a house with an inverter that is slowly dying and electricity that is given on the mercy of the Haitian government.  All in all I have grown closer to God through all of these trials.  We don't have the words to thank all of the faithful people who have helped us throughout the year.  The work continues here even though the devil has tried everything to stop us from doing the work of God, we have the victory through our faith in Christ.

The church is almost around 60 people.  We are a young church but God uses us to continue to preach the Gospel to Haiti, to have Jesus Christ be glorified.  The school will be starting school and we need your continued sponsorship to help further the future of the children in the mountains of Haiti.  To let us shine in the darkness.  Haiti is a very dark place and a stronghold for the devil.  We can only do this work, through the Godhead of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Without God I can do nothing.  That is why we depend so heavily on the support of faithful Christians who have a heart for Haiti and for the work of God.

Even though I was worried the the church here in Haiti would die or that the work here would fail.  God is faithful and it has continued and is growing.  We are very thankful for all of the support and prayers throughout this past year and we need them to continue.  Thank you Cornerstone Church, STBI,and especially Pastor Darryl Smith and Sister Catherine Smith. We couldn't do this work without you.  We would also like to thank Harborview Chapel who has be instrumental in helping in whatever we need through this year and beyond.

Thank you Pastor Rusty Maddox and his wife Heide you have adopted us into your family and we are very thankful for that.  Thank you Portland Christian Center for all of your support and all the prayers.  You have been faithful since 2008 and we are very thankful for our with you and all that you do.  Thank you Pastor Jim Harris for making us feel like part of the family whenever we are attending church. Thank you Golden years group for your faithful support and prayers.  We love to thank the Board and that they do.  We would love to thank my aunt Terecia and my cousins for the money they raised recently.  Also Steve and Ann Jacobs thank you for your companies help and your faithfulness to support us in our work.  Also Miss Lawanda at PCC you are so faithful in your support we would not have made it this past year without you.

Thanks to and know that your reward is in heaven, even though sometimes you may not think that you are doing something big, you are in our eyes.  It through faith and through support that we are able to do the work we are doing.  God Bless you all

It is funny how we all live here in this world.  It just seems like all of us are on a endless clock that we all think well our time is never really going to be up.  But it will come and it is going to come.  Eventhough many of us don't want to think about it, it is coming.  Then comes the thought everyone thinks is there a god.  Many deny it but no one really can really say their is no god.  But it is a thought that many of us think about and at least we have to bible to show us who he is.

I know this is not my normal style of blog but it is just something that has been on my mind today.  Today I was help out with the work that they are doing and my house and it just made me think about how much work these Haitian people put into their houses.  I tried to work for 2 hours shovelling sand and putting it into the sifter that Donald was using.  I helped me to have perspective on what life is like here in Haiti.

The church is doing well we are slowly but surely growing in God's timing.  We will try to start a sunday service in the afternoon twice a month in Boucan.  Please keep HLM in your prayers and also the support for our families.  If you are sending support we thank you and look  forward to seeing you when we are in the states.  For those of you who don't we would encourage you if you feel it on your heart to give please do it is appreciated.  The school will be opening in October so please keep all of our operations in Haiti in prayer.

We have been living but it has been hard these past two months.  Angie has started at a new school we have had 2 teams come to Haiti and we are preparing for more people to come during December-January and March-april.  It seems right when you think that God is not going to help you that is when he helps you.  Many are hurting in haiti but the country will show you the survival instinct that man has within himself to have the ability to live no matter what the circumstances.

If you would like to be interested in what I am talking about please email me at ramones225@gmail.com.  I would be happy to tell you more about haiti and how you could help Hope in the Light and our vision.  A trip to Haiti would be humbling for you and would teach you what God is wanting to teach you.  You will learn about yourself and where you should be.

It seems that many of us get busy with many different things whether it is sports, movies, TV shows, family or church activities.  But the fact is that we don't always make time for God like we should.  Haiti gives you the knowledge that some places you can make time for God.  You can have a relationship with your family with out giving up most of you life at work or being busy with buisiness activies.  You can make time for your family which is what God is wanting you to do.  You need to make the time to know your children or when they are older they won't want anything to do with you.

Well I hope those are encouraging thoughts, our prayers are with you.  God Bless
