We had another salvation in our church it was Mona's cousin Dieula. Here is the story behind the whole thing:
Today I went to Port au Prince, in an area called Route St. Martin. When I first got there I cried. First we went to find my wife's cousins. They have always accepted them as family. I hated to see them that way. It was awful, to see people sitting under sheets they had put up so they have some shade in the hot sun. It felt like someone had shoved my head in an oven, it was so hot. Where I live it is cool because we live at a higher elevation, but where my family lives it is hot and there are flies everywhere. It just mad me feel sad, that they had to suffer like this and I can go home and sleep in a house that is still standing. But this gave me an opportunity to suggest the idea of having a clinic and I know God will bless it. After we talked with Mona's cousin's awhile, we asked who wanted to come and stay with us. There was only one that wanted to come with us her name is Dieula. She had stayed with us before when we were in another house, and mona has always had a special place in her heart for her. It was shocking to me that one of Mona's cousin's name fabiola, who has a one year old, rather stay there with her son playing in the dirt with no pants on then have him come with us. It is where they have lived all their lives I guess. People are always afraid of change. Shortly after that we left with Dieula and went to our house. Once we arrived at our house we had our Wednesday night service. After we sang our 5 or 6 songs we asked if there were any visitors. This is when Mona's cousin Dieula(jula) stood up and she said that mona had invited her to church, and that we had brought her to our house. Next they asked her if she wanted to become a christian. She said she was ready. Then they asked her if she wanted to accept Jesus today and she said yes. Finally we prayed over her and she said the sinner's prayer right after that. It was amazing. The people in her area are in real need. We pray that this story will show you why we are in Haiti. This is just one day in the life of most Haitians, very difficult but they find a way to go on. Please keep us in your prayers, we need them. God Bless all of you.
